It was such a blessed day today... On the 121st Birthday of Meher Baba, was blessed to be at the Bombay Center, from 3 am and then went to spread joy and distributed some yummy snack packs to 200 basti school kids and their teachers, through our kind donations from Meher Roshani Foundation, and supporting help from team of Sankalp.
We had lovely sessions of nursery rhymes and numbers and alphabets. The urdu students read out their morning duas when I went and we had some lovely motivational 10 / 20 minutes with each class. It was exhilarating at 1 point, when I asked what each child, wants to become. With answers like doctor, architect, engineer etc., one of them said, Watchman and others laughed on him.
Baba gave the opportunity and words to share with these little future torch bearers that no work is small or big. It is the heart and mind that is small or big and each one has their own importance. Watchmen look after us and protect us, so it's a responsible job and so is the cleaner and peon and chaiwala. If the school or city is unclean then we all fall ill and if the chaiwala or peon is not there then who will give us the tea coffee to feel energetic through the day. In those few minutes it helped to instil on their hearts that we all are equal and yet unique in our own existence.
And all of them in chorus said "Yes Teacher Yes Didi" and then started shouting in joy and clapped for the one who said he wanted to be a watchman. Made them share their snack packs with each other and overall it was such a soulful experience, as I saw Baba smiling with joy through each one of them.
Thanked them for the opportunity given to my soul and told them that they as Receivers are more important than Givers as we cannot be blessed to be a Giver until there is a Receiver.
